Housing
People can face all sorts of housing difficulties. They might need repairs done, or be looking for a house move or a swap. Sometimes there are more urgent and extreme issues, for instance when people are having problems paying their rent or mortgage, or are in a dispute with a landlord.
For any social or council housing tenant, their first route of enquiry should be their local housing officer, who can be contacted via the individual housing association or organisation. Only if situations remain unresolved after this should people contact some of the more specialist services listed in this section.
These specialist services can help with things like arrears, disputes, helping people find a suitable tenancy and preventing homelessness.
It might also be useful for people to look at the Money Matters or Health sections of the Guide for more information and sources of help.
